Madeleine van Oppen, from the School of BioSciences, appeared on the ABC science program Catalyst on October 11, where she shared her expertise about how to save the Great Barrier Reef from coral bleaching.

This past summer, record sea temperatures contributed to the most severe cases of coral bleaching on record. Scientists across the country, including Professor van Oppen, are trying to understand how to prevent coral bleaching and whether damaged coral can ever recover.
