I was always interested in learning about neurodegenerative diseases, particularly Alzheimer's disease. Our memories essentially make us who we are - the thought of losing them devastated me and inspired me to want to learn more about the brain. Hopefully, I will be there when researchers discover a cure.

Studying at the University of Melbourne has meant being given the opportunity to create value for those around me. I’ve been given the opportunity to participate in clubs and programs outside of classes. With coursework, a highlight would be reaching my third year in neuroscience and learning not only the solid science but the current research going on in regards to the brain.

Don't stress too much if you're still not sure what you want to do by the end of high school. The Bachelor of Science provides great flexibility and gives you chance to discover a breadth of all the sciences available. I was able to experience different fields and only realised what I enjoyed the most in my second year.
