Kaye Merlin Brutton of Mount Martha, Victoria, made a bequest to The University of Melbourne in 1984, which enables research in the Faculty of Science.
Awarded to support research into cancer, diseases of the liver, ophthalmic diseases (in particular the neurological aspects of vision) and angina pectoris or any one or more of them, in a school of the Faculty of Science at the University of Melbourne. Preference will be given to those who have not previously received a Kaye Merlin Brutton Bequest. Please note that expenditure of the K.M. Brutton Bequest funds must be completed by mid November 2018 and receipts submitted to the Faculty of Science. Failure to expend funds by this date may result in forfeiture of the unexpended funds. Only in exceptional circumstances will expenditure after this date be approved.
Grant applications are awarded on the recommendation of a Committee formed by the Faculty of Science. Consideration will be given to early career investigators (Levels A-B) with a track record showing clear evidence of high research capacity relative to opportunity.
