A donation was received in 2005 from Professor Rupert Thomas Leslie and Mrs. Roberta J. Leslie of Glasgow, Scotland, in memory of Dr. Malcolm Livingstone Urquhart, a lecturer in the Department of Mathematics from 1932 to 1944.
The M. L. Urquhart 3rd Year Prize is awarded to the student with the best overall performance in the third year subjects of the Discrete Mathematics and Operations Research specialisation in the Mathematics and Statistics major: MAST30012 - Discrete Mathematics - and MAST30022 Decision Making. Then the best of MAST30013 Techniques in Operations Research, or MAST30011 Graph Theory, or MAST30001 Stochastic Modelling.
