The scholarship was donated by the Walter family and is managed by Ormond College.
This is a residential scholarship at Ormond College for students in mathematics. Students must be majoring in mathematics as an undergraduate or completing a Masters or PhD in mathematics. Academic excellence is the primary criterion for the award of the Scholarship but consideration may also be given to financial need. The scholarship is open to prospective students of Ormond and of the University.
The scholarship was donated by the Walter family and is managed by Ormond College. One scholarship per year. The award is made by a selection committee at Ormond College on the basis of material provided in the application. The College reserves the right to consult with the Department of Mathematics and Statistics in awarding the scholarship. Applicants will also be required to undertake a selection interview for residence at the College.
