About

David Hungerford Ashton left a bequest of $50,000 to the Foundation plus the proceeds from the sale of his oil paintings and pastels, which were to be sold by the University during a period of 12 months commencing 24 April 2006. By 31 October 2006 the sum of $15,281 had been raised from the sale of the paintings and pastels, and included some further donations. Donations have been received on a regular basis since then from the Foundation's annual giving program. On 1 January 2015 the School of Botany merged with the departments of Zoology and Genetics to become the School of BioSciences. The UoM School of Botany Foundation became the UoM Botany Foundation at that time.
