To assist in the recruitment of indigenous students into the PhD program in the Faculty of Science, in 2015 the Faculty established the Indigenous PhD Scholarship in Science.
The successful candidate must: - be an Indigenous Australian, as verified by the director of Murrup Barak; - be entering a PhD in 2017 in the Faculty of Science at the University of Melbourne; - satisfy the minimum entry requirements for a PhD as set out in the University of Melbourne Handbook and maintain the established candidature requirements during their PhD to remain eligible. Potential applicants for the Indigenous PhD scholarship should visit the following site to see the entry requirements for PhD students and the steps involved in applying: http://graduate.science.unimelb.edu.au/graduate-research
One scholarship is available to an Indigenous student entering the PhD program in the Faculty of Science at the University of Melbourne. The scholarship provides: - a stipend payment for up to four years at the annual value of the APA (the scholarship is for three years in the first instance with further extensions based on progress); - in addition to the stipend value, a further $6,000 is available to support fieldwork, conference or collaborative travel during candidature.
