Master of Environment student wins U21 & PwC Innovation Challenge
James Tait, one of three winners, will be given an expenses-paid week-long trip to PwC Middle East along with career development coaching from the PwC Academy.
The online competition attracted 44 entries from 17 universities within the Universitas 21 network.
The competition asked entrants to create a 3-minute video presentation based upon the following questions: ‘How can universities help individuals gain a broader perspective on the long-term impact and consequences of their day-to-day actions on people, society and the environment? What types of jobs will an environmentally-sensitive economy need, and what is the best way to prepare students for them?’

The other winners were Christopher Giradi from the Melbourne Law School (University of Melbourne) and Daniel Student from the University of California, Davos.
James Tait had this to say about winning the competition. “I am incredibly honoured and humbled in having my little idea deemed as worthy for winning this prestigious competition. I sincerely hope it’s the first step in a long career of building resilience and equality in both my own communities and communities around the world.”
