Novel smart fertiliser technologies
We apply a multidisciplinary approach involving plant and soil science, microbiology, chemistry and chemical engineering to help address both the financial and environmental issues resulting from inefficient nitrogen fertiliser use by developing new ‘smart fertilisers’ and inhibitors.
These technologies work with the soil microbiome and plant root systems to release the nitrogen plants need for growth when the plants need it and thereby reduce nitrogen losses.
