Advice, policy formation and capacity building

Past and current research, as well as international networks, position the Rural Innovation Research Group to provide advice into agricultural policies as well as directions for capacity building programs.

Drawing on our research, knowledge and experience, we provide submissions to government inquiries and fulfil roles on expert panels in our areas of expertise.

• We provide advice for national reforms in agricultural R&D and in agricultural workforce development.
• We synthesise evidence for greater investment and capacity building in innovation support and service development.

We translate our research outputs to develop professional development and education opportunities for industry program managers and agricultural advisers.

We contribute to knowledge and public debates through our scholarly and professional publications, our memberships of professional associations in agricultural extension, in water resources leadership and communities.
