BSc student, Cara Faulkner, reflects on the importance of networking.
I was drawn to Melbourne University because of its fantastic reputation, particularly in regard to its physics department, and the high academic standard it upholds. It also has an excellent location and the grounds and facilities are great.
Studying at Melbourne University has provided me with the opportunity to explore my passions in a challenging and stimulating environment. I’ve made new friends and developed a great networking environment.
I've always seen Uni as a place to learn new and awesome things. Even though the studies can be academically challenging, I've found my time at Melbourne really rewarding and I've been able to connect with other students at all levels and faculty staff through some great networking events.
I strongly recommend that current students join groups and attend networking events related to your course. This helps you to meet members of the faculty and other students in your course, and you never know what opportunities might arise from it.
