"I love the limitless applications of data science. Nearly every field collects data and they want to use this in the best way possible."

I first came to Melbourne as a study abroad student with RMIT in 2019 and I knew that I wanted to do a masters degree after finishing my undergraduate studies. I fell in love with the city of Melbourne and since getting into the University of Melbourne I haven’t looked back!

I use data science to study health informatics and I love the limitless applications of data science. Nearly every field collects data and they want to use this in the best way possible. Whether you’re interested in financial services, healthcare or physics – there are countless opportunities to work in data science at the intersection of other fields.

As an international student, I’ve really enjoyed getting to know my classmates and gaining a global perspective. I think data science highlights how important it can be to take electives and explore different areas of expertise, because you can apply knowledge in different ways. You can meet students from other areas and gain valuable knowledge outside of your own interests and area of expertise.
