Having graduated from my Bachelor of Science with a Neuroscience major last year, I’m currently enrolled in Melbourne Business School undertaking a Master of Management (Finance), and I’m loving every minute of it. I decided to study for an additional two years in this master’s program because I believe it equips me with the necessary skills and industry knowledge to conquer the consulting world, and eventually reach a position of management with confidence and skill.

In today’s transformative economy, I believe my science background will be invaluable in providing a fresh and innovative perspective to my future endeavours in the corporate sphere. My Bachelor of Science taught me how to approach a problem analytically and think scientifically in all decisions of impact, and I look forward to applying this mindset to my work, particularly in consulting and advisory roles.

With the combined skills of Management (Finance) and Science, I eagerly await a chance to make an impact in all future endeavours and I hope I can make a positive impact on our world’s environment and sustainability concerns. Businesses have a huge impact and represent an opportunity to create change, and I hope to one day advise these corporations towards increasingly sustainable business models, for our future generations. I believe sustainability does not only gain corporations social and environmental points, but makes good economic sense, and so I look forward to the day a sustainable business model is the norm in global markets.

When I look back on my time as a Bachelor of Science student, I have only fond memories. If I could go back and do it again, I would say yes more. I would say yes to every club I could, each offering a new experience, unlimited fun, and a chance to make new friends. I would say yes to study groups with people I didn’t know, and to all the camps and balls you can be a part of. I would say yes to sitting at the front of each lecture, and meeting new students sharing my experiences every day.

When you are part of the Faculty of Science, you are part of a community which will last a lifetime. As a recent graduate of the faculty, I am only just discovering the benefits and joys of being a member of such a prestigious and supportive alumni group, and I know this is only the beginning. There are many more connections and experiences waiting.
