Studying overseas in the Bachelor of Science

Want to add a global experience to your degree? Explore options for completing a semester of study overseas during your Bachelor of Science.

We highly recommend undertaking part of your degree overseas – it's an exciting, once-in-a-lifetime opportunity! There are a number of ways you can do it, too: either as an "exchange" student or a "study abroad" student. With an approved study plan, both options can provide you with credit or fulfil academic requirements.

Important notes

  • Recommendations within this guide have been made based upon the prevalence of equivalent units at partner institutions.
  • This is not an exhaustive guide and there may be other subject combinations or options available. You should ensure you consult the University of Melbourne Handbook when making any subject choices.
  • These recommendations assume that you have consistently completed a standard load of 4 subjects per semester. If you have undertaken an altered study load, use this as a reference, but ensure you course plan to your individual requirements.
  • This guide is updated on a yearly basis. You must ensure that you check the availability of subjects offered at partner institutions to ensure it aligns with what is listed here.
