If you are studying the Bachelor of Agriculture, we are very pleased to offer you the opportunity to get real field experience studying at our Dookie Campus! The following scholarships are available to cover some of the costs that are associated with staying up at Dookie.

The following scholarships are available for Bachelor of Agriculture students studying at Dookie in 2024:

- Richard Ruwolt Scholarship
- Susan Haggard Scholarship

Selection criteria – and how to meet them
Statement
All applications require submission of a statement demonstrating the educational benefit of studying at Dookie. The statement should be 350-500 words.
Note: the statement is entered directly into the application form so we recommend you write your statements in Word and then copy and paste into the form.
Financial need
Dookie scholarships are open to all students as per the criteria however, preference will be given to those in financial need. You should provide details of your financial need in your statement.
Rural student criteria
This is required for the Alan Blakney Scholarship.
A rural or isolated area is defined as an area with a Remote Areas (ASGC-RA) Australian Standard Geographic Classification of: RA2 – Inner Regional, RA3 – Outer Regional, RA4 – Remote, or RA5 – Very Remote. The Department of Health and Ageing uses this categorisation system for a number of programs related to medical practice in Australia. You can check the classification of your rural or isolated address on the Department of Health and Ageing website.
Please provide evidence of your rural status with documentation.
As undergraduate students you are classed as rural if your residential (home) address is in an area with a classification of RA2 or higher.

Support Already received from other awards
When determining the recipients for scholarships/bursaries/funding the support already received, in the form of other student awards, by all eligible applicants will be taken into account. Please note this doesn't prevent applicants from applying if they have already received funding.
Other things you need to know
Terms and conditions
If a student withdraws from the Dookie-specific subjects for which the scholarship was offered, prior to census date, the scholarship will be withdrawn and payments must be returned.
Recipient responsibilities
If you receive an award/bursary/scholarship, you will be expected to:
- Provide a report at the end of the year
- Meet any specific requirements of the award you receive, including reporting back to the Faculty/Donor when required.
