The University of Melbourne and Savitribai Phule Pune University become Institutional Partners

The University of Melbourne (UoM) and Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) have established a formal institutional partnership. Vice Chancellor’s Professor Duncan Maskell from the UoM and Professor Nitin Karmalkar from SPPU signed a Memorandum of Understanding signalling a commitment to strengthening a relationship that has been developing between the institutions for the last decade.

SPPU is a NAAC A+ accredited institution and was granted Institute of Eminence status in 2018. In 2014, SPPU become the first teaching implementation partner for the BSc (Blended), and the teaching pilot for the program commenced in 2016 in the SPPU affiliated Modern College of Arts Science and Commerce. In 2018, SPPU commenced offering the BSc Blended (Environmental Science).

The degree is the first undergraduate course to be located on the SPPU main campus, and facilities are currently being constructed specifically to house future BSc (Blended) cohorts from 2019.
