Mentoring and volunteering opportunities

Connect with fellow alumni and current students through our STEM industry and flash-mentoring programs, or become a voice for your alumni community on the Alumni Council.

Mentoring

Boost your coaching and leadership skills by guiding students or fellow alumni towards career success through our mentoring programs. Short on time? We offer a variety of mentoring opportunities, ranging from single conversations to year-long engagements so you can choose the option that best suits your schedule.

  • Unlock the power of your alumni community

The University’s flexible Ask Alumni platform is a space where you can provide guidance or seek support through one-off career conversations. This is your opportunity to share your professional experience with others, seek career advice or do both – it’s up to you.

  • Supporting students from diverse backgrounds

Our students come from broad backgrounds and experiences and may need support through challenges outside of their industry-specific courses. Our Access Connections program connects alumni mentors with students who are under-represented in higher education.

  • Welcome to Melbourne

Provide a warm welcome to Australia Awards Scholarship students. Students are matched with members of our alumni community who act as cultural hosts, introducing students to life in Melbourne by sharing a social activity together.

STEM Career Mentoring Program

Have you ever thought about what advice you would give to your student self upon graduating university? Make an impact on the next generation of STEM graduates by providing invaluable guidance and support, career guidance to students who will soon transition into the world of work.
