PhD Details

My PHD project is to research deep continual learning and its application in robotics. Continual learning is a learning paradigm that allows robots to adapt to the changing environment. However, it suffers from the catastrophic forgetting problem. Our research develops technologies to alleviate this problem for long term robot navigation.

Q & A

Why did you decide to do a PhD?
I have great passion on the research of machine learning and its application in robotics. PHD study offers necessary training to me to research these areas rigorously.

What do you enjoy reading?
What I enjoy reading is that it challenges my perspective. Talented authors may take different viewpoints with me and if they support their viewpoints with strong evidences, this increases my understanding of our nature and world.

What do you enjoy doing when you're not working on your PhD?
I like to do some relaxing activities like swimming and playing table tennis.

Name one fun fact about you.
I don’t really like rat but I once research rat brain for robot navigation during master study.
