Overview

The project involved exploratory social network analysis relating to New Zealand's agencies, organizations and individuals involved in rural resilience issues

Project Summary

The purpose of this project was to

  1. Identify New Zealand organisations and agencies for whom rural resilience is a current and future focus with respect to policy, practice and advocacy.
  2. Identify current opportunities, weaknesses (gaps) and strengths in the network.
  3. Identify the roles of leaders and brokers within the baseline network who provide critical relational connectivity for the next stage of the project.
  4. Identify if, and how, clusters of organisations are working together.
  5. Better understand how the resilience capability represented by the national and international networks of workshop members can be available for the benefit of New Zealand’s rural communities.
