Career enrichment program

The Faculty of Science Career Enrichment program provides students with a range of skill-building and industry engagement events.

Apply knowledge learned in the classroom to real-world problems, practice your professional skills in workshops, and meet industry professionals at career panels or networking events.

Workshops

Workshop topics cover:

  • How to find internship opportunities and contact potential organisations
  • How to identify your skills and communicate these successfully to professionals and companies
  • How to network with industry partners and build a professional network.

Student will engage in group discussions and activities to practice their professional and communication skills. After the workshop, students will have samples and strategies to tackle their next career step. All workshops will be advertised on the CareersOnline platform, and students can book attendance there.

Panels and networking events

The Career enrichment program also includes other event formats such as career panels or networking events to offer insights into professional careers and skill development.

  • Panel conversations with industry professionals and science alumni allow students to learn about diverse career paths and receive tips about steps and strategies to start their career planning. Science students can ask questions during the Q&A.
  • Networking events for students, industry partners, and science alumni are hosted within our Faculty or in collaboration with partners from across the university. We provide networking opportunities for students to meet with partners from various industries, to grow their professional network and to practice their communication skills.
