Science Case Competition
Plastic pollution is a global challenge and here’s your chance to make an impact!
This year the Faculty of Science, in collaboration with the Science Students’ Society (SSS) and BusinessOne Consulting will be facilitating a Science Case Competition with a focus on plastic pollution. The competition is supported by the Sustainability Team and sponsored by the Dirt Company and Accenture.
Applications are now open!
This is your chance to hone your skills, build your industry experience and network with potential employers!
You will work in teams to develop a pitch to solve a real-world problem that The Dirt Company and University Sustainability have identified.
Apply as an individual, partial team, or full team by Wed 27 Jul 2022, 9am.
Selected participants will be notified via email by Fri 29 Jul.
Please note, students must be a Faculty of Science student to apply and be eligible to participate.
Dates:
- Mon 1 Aug, 5:15pm - 6:30pm: Crack-the-Case workshop delivered by Accenture, with Case released afterwards (mandatory)
- Tue 2 Aug, 1pm - 2pm: Optional and highly encouraged Project Management workshop delivered by Academic Skills. Register here.
- Fri 12 Aug, 12pm (midday): Case pitches due for submission
- Tue 16 Aug, 5:15pm - 7:30pm: Heats (mandatory if selected)
- Thu 18 Aug, 5pm - 7:30pm: Finals (mandatory if selected)
Prizes include monetary vouchers, products and events with industry sponsors.

Once you’ve submitted your reflection, you will receive your credential and read about how you can share it.
