Some awards support the same recipient for a number of years or may be awarded to enable a particular experience such as a travel scholarship. For these awards it is particularly meaningful for donors to hear from you on the longer-term impact of their support, so we ask you to submit an end of year report.
This differs from the initial message you provided as part of the award acceptance process, as it speaks directly to the realised impact of the funding. It is a great opportunity to reflect on what you have achieved through this support, as well as any plans that you have been able to make for the future.
Your willingness to share some of your reflections and a direct acknowledgement of this generosity helps our supporters understand the very real impact of their donations.
It is an important part of our commitment to ensuring donors are informed and celebrated for their giving.
Preparing your report
To help you prepare your annual report, we recommend having the following information ready before completing the form.
☐ Reflect on your progress and any key study, research or personal achievements during the year.
☐ Consider the impact of your award, including how it supported your studies or research, activities, travel or your personal circumstances.
☐ Think about how you used the award funds and what the funding enabled you to do.
☐ Prepare a short message of thanks to the donor who supported your award.
☐ Have a recent photo ready (optional). If you are comfortable, we encourage you to include one as it helps personalise your report for the donor.
☐ Check your responses before submitting to make sure they are clear and complete.
Annual award reports are usually due in February following the award year and are submitted via SmartyGrants. If you are required to submit a report, you will be contacted by the scholarships and awards team.
