Velankanni Jesika Nadar
Velankanni, who has multicultural roots in India, is pursuing Master of Biotechnology. During her Bachelor of Biochemistry (Honors), she discovered her passion for research & innovation to develop sustainable biomaterials. She serves as Science Student Ambassador within Faculty of Science alongside at the Graduate Student Association as the Environment & Sustainability Officer as well as at the Council of Australian Postgraduate Association as the Board Director. Her involvement as a student representative epitomises her passion for advocacy and student well-being along with building a community of belongingness. Previously, Velankanni has been a SSLC Representative within the School of Maths & Stats and contributed towards the University of Melbourne Biotechnology Club' (UMBC) Career Panel Night. She intends to be a bridge between the faculty and the cohort to collaboratively enrich the graduate students' experience academically, and socially while preparing to be young professionals.
