The Faculty of Science Student Wellbeing Program is designed to improve the mental and social wellbeing of Science students and focusing on 5 key areas: Connect, Keep Learning, Be Active, Be Aware and Help Others.

Wellbeing grants
The Faculty of Science is seeking applications to fund proactive, student-led activities and initiatives to enhance our students' health and wellbeing. If you have a great idea, we'll help you realise it! The Wellbeing grants are funded by the Faculty of Science.
Selection guidelines
Grants will be shortlisted by each respective Student Wellbeing Grants Selection Committee.
While the Committee will take into account the preferences of students, the Committee reserves the right to fund specific projects. The Committee’s decision is final, and no correspondence will be entered into.
Funding will be distributed as soon as practicable according to University payment cycles.
In shortlisting, the Committee will consider how the intended projects:
- Provide meaningful collaboration opportunities for the maximum number of students
- Seek to improve mental health awareness
- Promote physical and mental wellbeing
- Encourage diversity and social inclusion activities
- Complement the curriculum of respective courses

A series of fortnightly picnic sessions designed to support the mental health and wellbeing of science students. These relaxed, inclusive gatherings feature activities like painting, crafts, and games, creating a space for connection and a stress relief. The Physics Students’ Society is hosting a 3-day wellbeing-focused camp to enhance mental health and foster peer connections across all year levels. Through student-led bonding activities and physics-themed team challenges. For more information, please contact The Physics Students’ Society (PSS)

Puppy yoga sessions will be held on Parkville campus for DVM students of all year levels. Led by a professional yoga team and joined by 10 puppies per session, the event offers a calming space for guided yoga and therapeutic animal interaction. Staff vs. Student trivia night is open to all cohorts of the DVM program. Given the high stress of the intensive course, this event offers students and staff a fun opportunity to socialise, helping to promote mental wellbeing and relieve stress.
