Below you’ll find a snapshot of some of our key events. Event details will become available on the Information for Graduate Researchers page throughout the year.
Booting Up Your Thesis
The Booting Up Your Thesis bootcamp, delivered annually for early-stage graduate researchers, is an ideal opportunity for those wanting to learn more about data management tools, how to effectively manage their time, and how to prepare for the writing up stage ahead. Registrations open mid-year. Keep an eye out on our events page.
The virtual offering allowed me to attend from New York, due to the border closure! It was such a relief to hear that I am on track for confirmation and expectations for the next two years of research. It also gave me great ideas for career trajectories. Very helpful and well programmed!

Feedback from attendees
The Thesis Bootcamp is a great place to find inspiration, tips and motivation for thesis writing.
The bootcamp is a great chance to get in touch with other students across the faculty... I'm extremely grateful to have been part of it.
3MT® Competition
Showcase and promote your research through the Faculty of Science’s Three Minute Thesis (3MT) competition. This is a great opportunity to share and immerse yourself in the diverse range of research occurring across the faculty. It’s also a great way to practice effective communication and prepare for the University’s 3MT competition.
The Faculty's competition is held in May/June of each year, so keep an eye out for more details in our GR Newsletter and our events page.
