About our accommodation

At Dookie campus student accommodation, your home away from home, you will have convenience and lifestyle right at your doorstep. Based close to your classrooms and study facilities, you won’t be far from Shepparton for shopping and eating out. Local communities are within easy reach with just a 30-minute drive to Benalla and Shepparton, 60 minutes to Wangaratta and only two and a half hours to Melbourne’s CBD.

As a student at Dookie campus, you will experience a unique student lifestyle, relaxing after class on the 2440-hectare property and surrounds. Be sure to take advantage of Dookie’s many recreational facilities. These include a swimming pool, gymnasium, tennis and basketball courts, cricket nets, sports grounds, squash court, and even horse club facilities if you want to house your equine friend on campus!

Discover the campus research farm, including a vineyard, winery, grazing and cropping farm, orchard, and seed bank, and chat with researchers onsite who are exploring critical issues such as food security, biodiversity and water efficiency.

Beyond the amazing facilities available to you as a student at Dookie campus, explore the beautiful natural sites surrounding your learning environment. Take a scenic stroll through the bushland reserve, enjoy the magnificent view from atop Mount Major, look out for shooting stars, or cycle around the Dookie Rail Trail that traverses some of the Goulburn Valley’s most fertile farmland.

Also look out for wildlife around campus including wombats, kangaroos, echidnas, blue tongue lizards, koalas and rare birdlife – not to mention the cheeky possums.

Your accommodation includes the following facilities:

  • Single bed in all A Dormitory, Pudney and Thompson Unit, Single Quarter Unit rooms. Double bed in Building 547 rooms.
  • Wardrobe, desk and chair, bookshelves
  • Shared or ensuite bathroom facilities depending on the building.
  • Fully equipped communal kitchen
  • Common room with television and DVD player
  • Communal laundry facilities*
  • High-speed wireless internet
  • Car parking
  • Dining hall facilities (open for lunch and breakfast on weekdays)*

Prices

2026 student accommodation fees

The listed fees below are for students residing at Dookie Campus for a semester or longer. For students undertaking an intensive subject please refer to information within the relevant subject handbook entry.

A bond of $1,000 is required upon commencement.

Prices include electricity, water, wireless internet and weekly cleaning. Residents will need to provide their own cutlery, crockery and cooking utensils.

Package deal - Full-time students accommodated in Building 547 and A Dormitory are provided with 4 evening meals (Mon to Thu.). They are required to self-cater all other meals including breakfast, lunch, Friday dinner and weekend meals.
