About Kendall Hall
Kendall Hall, at the University of Melbourne’s Werribee campus, is named after WT Kendall, who played a significant role in the establishment of veterinary education in Australia.
WT Kendall was the founder of the Melbourne Veterinary College in 1888, which later evolved into the University of Melbourne's Faculty of Veterinary Science, marking the beginning of formal veterinary education in the country.
Kendall Hall opened in 1967 to provide on-campus accommodation for veterinary students, visiting academics, and short-term guests, aligning with the expansion of the Veterinary Clinical Centre.
Over the years, it has supported the needs of veterinary students, especially those involved in clinical rotations at the campus.
Kendall Hall has undergone significant upgrades, including a refurbishment of communal bathrooms in recent years, aimed at improving the living experience for residents. Its location near the Werribee Mercy Hospital and animal facilities has made it a vital resource for students and staff needing close proximity to campus resources.
