In2Science
An innovative, multi-university schools partnership program where volunteer university STEM students are placed into year 7 to year 10 classes in low socioeconomic high schools and act as mentors to the students.

Melbourne Indigenous STEM Education Program (MISEP)
The Faculty of Science’s Melbourne Indigenous STEM Education Program (MISEP) is a series of Indigenous-led, hands-on, curriculum-based workshops that aim to engage school students with Indigenous STEM knowledges.

Residential Indigenous Science Experience (RISE)
A week-long residential camp for Year 9 and 10 Indigenous students to experience the tangible and hands-on nature of science, including workshops and special presentations on chemistry, geology, genetics, physics and maths, and visits to industry.

The Science Experience
Every January, year 9 and 10 students experience life as a University of Melbourne STEM student with lectures, laboratory experiments, and hands-on experiences run by our top-ranking academic staff.

STEM EDGE
An exciting series of events run over 6 years, this program inspires girls and gender-diverse students with the possibility of a STEM career through camps, hands-on experience and mentoring opportunities.

Science Gallery Melbourne Excursions
Join us for interactive gallery tours and workshops where you can pilot a drone, try insect waffles and play with 3D-printed bones.
Year 10 Work Experience
Want to know what it's like to be a scientist?
During the Faculty of Science Year 10 Work Experience Program, you'll participate in workshops and activities in a STEM discipline of your choice! You will meet new friends and scientific role models, as well as get a taste of university life. Places are limited.

We host annual laboratory workshops for VCE Biology students at our Parkville campus, enabling students to complete practical laboratory activities in a tertiary education setting.
