In this talk, Associate Professor Michele Trenti will introduce fundamental questions of astronomy by focusing on the earliest stages of creation. We do this by observing incredibly distant galaxies. In fact, because of the finite speed of light, distant objects are seen as they were in the past.

In this talk, William and Madeleine explain how dark matter might interact with the world of physics they know and love, and how scientists might be able to try and spot it. They address the challenges of searching for such a rare signal, and the local effort to detect it that is ramping up deep underground in Victoria.
